The first step was to conduct a thorough analysis of the client’s website, as well as its competitors. Based on this analysis, we focused on the following areas:
A cohesive team works on this project, consisting of several key roles – a project manager responsible for ensuring effective communication with the client, SEO specialists with deep knowledge of optimization processes, link builders who focus on creating high-quality backlinks, and a team lead who ensures alignment of the team’s efforts.
For effective promotion, it is crucial to pay special attention to analyzing competitors’ activities. We selected priority search queries for the client and, based on this list, identified the competitor websites. We then conducted a comparative analysis based on key metrics such as the current state of the site, its structure, and backlink profile.
We studied competitors’ strategies, their backlink profiles, and the structure and on-page elements of their service pages. This allowed us to better understand the market and determine the most effective strategy for future actions.
At the initial stage, we developed a technical task that outlined the necessary steps to improve the website and defined priorities for each of the described tasks. Let’s review the main issues that needed to be addressed for further promotion
One of the significant issues with the site was the presence of a large number of unnecessary pages, as well as the lack of page indexing rules.
We recommended configuring a 404 response code for non-existent pages, removing redirects to a specific page, and using the existing design to display 404 error pages.
Pitfalls: The website had no way to properly configure the 404 response code.
To prevent any search engine supporting the noindex rule from indexing a page on your site, place the following <meta> tag in the <head> section:
<meta name=”robots” content=”noindex”>
This would help eliminate problematic pages that were already indexed and prevent unnecessary pages from being indexed.
Additionally, unnecessary order pages were found in the index. These pages should not be indexed as they contain confidential order information for specific clients and also waste crawling budget.
We planned to work on removing these pages from the index to leave only the important ones.
The breadcrumbs implementation on the site did not take page hierarchy into account, and, furthermore, this navigation element was not present on all pages. We provided clear recommendations on how to fix this.
Proper implementation of multilingual content will correctly “link” different language versions and signal to search engines which page to show users based on their search settings.
The Vidby website has multiple language versions, but hreflang was not set up properly.
It was necessary to improve the page load speed, which significantly impacts user metrics. The most noticeable issues were with loading pages for the mobile version of the site.
We also provided recommendations for configuring the robots.txt file, XML, and HTML sitemaps.
Additionally, we discovered several duplicate meta tags, which negatively affect the website’s quality and ranking. There were also pages missing H1 tags and repeating text fragments in the content.
We outlined all these problems and many others in a technical task and provided solutions.
Alongside working on the technical aspects, we began compiling the semantic core (keyword list). An example of the keyword list is provided below.
After developing a promotion plan and determining the necessary number of outreach and crowd links, the link builders began selecting platforms and placing links on them.
First, we conduct thorough research on the leading websites in search results and identify domains linking to them. Then, we filter out platforms that don’t meet our criteria by checking the domain rating, the page rank of the donor site, anchor texts used for ranking, traffic fluctuations, and more.
For quality results in link building, we pay attention to the correct distribution of different types of links. After analysis, we decided that we needed to distribute both anchored and unanchored links, as well as dofollow and nofollow links, to avoid being penalized by Google filters.
To maximize the effect, the links on donor sites needed to pass more link weight. Therefore, we decided to implement tier 2 links for some of the placed links. This means we increase the ranking of the pages linking to us, thus gaining more link weight for our site.
This approach helps us increase our domain authority, improve its visibility, and ultimately attract new users to the site.
Domain Rating (DR) Growth
For the website pages, we provided recommendations for filling in TDH (title, description, H1).
To fill pages with language variations, it was decided to create spun content in order to expand the structure and generate additional traffic with minimal costs.
Here is an example of the growth in impressions and clicks at the initial stage for spun pages like https://vidby.com/documents-translation/{language-pair}
Proper blog management can bring a significant amount of targeted traffic. That’s why we always assist clients in developing a content plan for their blog, providing recommendations to improve the user experience and convert blog readers into customers.
The screenshot below shows the results of working with blog pages
First and foremost, we emphasize that it’s crucial for us to provide value to the client and increase the number of orders. We don’t just focus on data collection and creating technical tasks. We maintain continuous communication and actively listen to client feedback. We regularly strive to find unique approaches, generate new ideas, and test hypotheses to achieve the maximum project growth.
To increase the click-through rate (CTR) of search snippets, we suggested implementing structured data (microdata) to display ratings and site evaluations directly in the search results.
This implementation was done for both commercial service pages:
And for blog pages, which made the articles more visible and attracted more visitors:
We don’t stop at basic tasks and are always looking for approaches that will help generate more traffic.
We proposed ideas to the client that would showcase expertise and attract an interested audience to the website.
Next are the ideas that were proposed and are in the process of implementation.
A glossary is a dictionary of terms created for a specific search query. Having a glossary allows for content cohesion. Each term in the glossary is accompanied by a description (short or detailed).
This way, you can gather traffic based on definitions and link such pages to target service pages, enhancing their internal link value.
Example of optimization for such a page:
Meta Tag Template
Title: What is (an) (a) [TERM]? Definition and Meaning
Description: Learn what [TERM] is: meaning of the term, where and how it is used ⬆️ Find out more in the Vidby glossary.
H1: [TERM]
Example:
Title: What is Video Transcription? Definition and Meaning
Description: Learn what video transcription is: meaning of the term, where and how it is used ⬆️ Find out more in the Vidby glossary.
H1: Video Transcription
In addition to the standard promotion of services based solely on their names, it’s important to understand where the promoted service might be in demand.
Armed with this idea, we conducted research and gathered queries for various industries that require video translation services.
Based on this, we suggested creating a series of pages that would attract a targeted audience.
For example, the tourism industry.
Main keywords:
For this field, the following services are relevant:
These services were recommended to show the value of each product (service) to the interested target audience.
We prepared a plan for internal linking.
Internal linking is an important SEO tool that helps search engines better understand and evaluate the website and improves user interaction.
Internal linking on the website serves several important functions:
The client’s team is constantly working on creating new services that will be useful to site visitors.
We synchronized efforts on future product development plans. This allows for accelerated product development, as the SEO team can actively work on demand research while the client is still in the development phase.
Thus, we were able to analyze the new niche and prepare all necessary SEO materials:
This format helps to reduce the time for product promotion and achieve results faster.
Thanks to the well-developed SEO strategy, we managed to increase search traffic from 2,000 to 40,000 over 8 months of work.
And we are not stopping here – we continue following the planned strategy and are looking for new growth opportunities. This was made possible through the combined efforts of the Luxeoteam and the Vidby client.
